Private Yacht Charter Activities

by Skipper

Have you ever thought of hiring a private yacht charter? If you answered yes, then you are among many others that have asked the same question. Every year in the United States, many families, buddies, and couples look into getting a trip on a private yacht charter. Many people just think about it, and a lot of them wind up bailing out. One of the reasons for this is that they think they will get bored, out in the ocean and stranded with nothing to do. This is just because they haven’t planned on what activities you could be doing while you are out on a private yacht charter. There are many things that you could be doing and that is why I am here to explain a couple of them for you.

Now before you get down to some nitty gritty activities that you could be doing out on a private yacht charter, you must realize that in the United States there are thousands of different private yacht charters. This means that depending on the captain there will be different rules and regulations of activities that you will be able to perform. Some private yacht charters might be just for fishing, while others could be for snorkeling and sightseeing, or even scuba diving. So once you really decide on what you want to do, the best way to go would be to call around your local charters and ask what their regulations are. This way you will know exactly what you can and cannot do when you are out in the water.

Now many private yacht charters have different types of rules of what you can and cannot do, but one that a lot of private charters encourage is swimming. Now swimming is almost always allowed when you are out on a private charter, but it may be a bit limited. You may have to have some proof that you are able to swim, and the strictest of rules come into play if you want to do some scuba diving. If you wanted to do some scuba diving there is a very good chance that you would have to show a valid divers license. This is a huge liability for private yacht charter captains.

If you can’t prove to them that you can swim, you may be required to wear a life jacket due to the liability issues, and many private yacht charters have age limits on making it mandatory to wear life jackets. It all depends on where you are at, if you are up north you might not want to hire a private yacht charter for swimming, as the water will more than likely be way to cold. But if you are down in the Florida Keys, snorkeling around colorful reefs can be a blast.

Many charters have more to do than just swimming or fishing, as some of the big ones will have televisions, radios, sound systems, even small swimming pools on board. Specific types of charters have their own activities, and the real big names around the local area should have a great plan for all of their customers. They are providing a business and their job is to make sure that you have a good time, this is why it is important to get every detail about the chartering captain or company that you can before you fork over the money and hop on. Make sure that they have a scheduled plan for you, if they don’t make sure that they will follow your scheduled plan as long as it meets their rules and regulations.

There is much fun to be had when out on a private yacht charter, these are just a few simple activities that you may want to look into. As I have repeated, to make the best of your visit with a private yacht charter, be sure to ask a lot of questions before making the commitment, they will be glad to answer them for you.
